Peggy Barnett, 78, of Malvern, passed away on December 29, 2014. She was born on March 11, 1936 to Woodrow Robinson and Lucille Moore Robinson Jordan. Peggy was a quiet, kind and respectful woman who instilled these same values in her children. She was strong willed and a hard worker. She was married for 57 years to her husband, John, and together they built a business from the ground up. In 1967 her and her husband established a Honda motorcycle dealership, John’s Honda, that is still thriving today. She was a savvy business woman, keeping ledger books for all accounts, but never chose business over her love and compassion for others. She was fondly known as “Miss Peggy” by many in town and knew she would offer to help if they had a need. Peggy was an avid reader with a love for books. Her greatest love was her family and her church. Peggy was a member of Liberty Chapel Church. Peggy also managed Barnett properties alongside her husband. With all of her hard work and dedication to the businesses they ran together, Peggy still cooked three meals a day for her husband. She also loved going to estate sales and was a self-proclaimed “picker.”
Peggy is preceded in death by her parents and one great-granddaughter; Makenzie Potts.
She is survived by her husband; John Barnett, two sons; Mitch (Karen) Barnett of Hot Springs, and Jay (Penny) Barnett of Malvern, two daughters; Vickie (Rick) Willingham of Malvern and Jan (Gary) Glidewell of Malvern, three brothers; Jimmy Robinson, David Robinson and Terry Robinson. She also leaves behind six grandchildren; Kerri (Ryan) Polke, Mandy (Wade) Strawn, Ray (Samantha) Willingham, Heather Barnett, Hannah Barnett and JD Barnett and nine great-grandchildren.
